Encounters of the Close Kind

As a designer, I find myself taking product shots all the damn time. Product shots are fun sometimes for the most part, but they do bore the living christ out of me. Most product shots require a lot of depth of field, subject isolation, and detail accentuation. Unfortunately most shoots do not require nice walks in the woods. So instead of experimenting in the studio, I usually go outside to practice my methods using a natural canvas. These are some of the photographs I've taken while practicing for studio shoots.
